Ellswirth, Dorothy P.
Dorothy P. Ellsworth, 93, of Aurora, Ill., formerly of Coggon, passed away Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at Alden of Waterford Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Aurora, Ill. Celebration of Life: 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, at United Parish in Coggon, by Pastor Jen Filter, with a luncheon to follow.Private inurnment:Coggon.Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion.
Survivors include two children, Lonnie Ellsworth of Cedar Rapids and Shirley Ellsworth of Aurora, Ill.; two grandchildren, Dona Schmidt of Central City and Lora Cook of Manchester; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George; a son, Gary; one brother and one sister.
Dorothy was born Dec. 6, 1918, in Ryan, Iowa, the daughter of Carl and Mary (Schatzle) Emerson.She married George Ellsworth on July 23, 1938, and made the Coggon area their home for over 70 years.
She loved to dance, decorate her home, and tend to her flowers.Dorothy looked forward to the birthday coffees at Main Street Market in Coggon.She was a lifelong member of Eastern Star and the United Parish Church in Coggon.
Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, caregiver to her disabled son, Gary, grandmother, and friend.
