Ellen Rae Timmons, 53, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Friday, April 1, 2022, at The University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. There will be a family conducted Celebration of Life held at a later date to be announced. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, assisted the family.
Ellen was born on Dec. 10, 1968, in Iowa, the daughter of Glenn and Dorothy (Hoeppner) Goodwin. She shared her life and love for 23 years with her partner, John Hall. Ellen worked at Shive-Hattery, Inc. and worked as a server at various restaurants in Cedar Rapids. She was a die-hard sports fan who enjoyed watching NASCAR races, the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Blackhawks, Iowa State Cyclones and the Dallas Cowboys. Ellen was honored to be the first female in Iowa to play Little League Baseball. She loved to dance and listen to music; especially The Beatles and played flute in her high school band.
Survivors include her partner of 23 years, John Hall; children, Josh (Kelsey Willhite) Timmons, Tyler Timmons and Todd Gusta (fiancee, Zoe Quinn), all of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Brayden and Lydia Timmons; father, Glenn Goodwin of Ottumwa, Iowa; siblings, Donny (Tracy) Goodwin, David (Amy) Goodwin, Vicki Lammers, Kathy Ellsworth and Sue (Jeff) Lawrence; and her beloved dogs, Buddy and Misty.
Ellen was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Goodwin.
