Ella Ruth Doss Murphy, 70, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Sept. 18, 2015, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Services: noon Tuesday, Sept. 22, at Word of Faith Pentecostal Church of God in Christ, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Eugene; her children, Willie, Victoria, Ella, Andrew, Rosie, Beverly Ann, Jason, Eugenia and Annie Mae; sisters, Cora, Bobbie, Johnnie Mae and Stella; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Robert; daughter, Stella; and brother, Luther.
Ella was born March 16, 1945, the daughter of Bob and Johnnie Mae (Brown) Dixon, in Louise, Miss. She married Eugene Murphy on Oct. 12, 2005. Ella loved Disney movies and characters, cooking, and especially her family.
