A celebration of life for Elizabeth Zinn, 85, of Wellman, formerly of Kalona, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 2, at Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona with Pastor Scott Swartzendruber officiating. Burial will follow at the Sharon Hill Cemetery in Kalona. Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established for the Kalona Mennonite Church, Parkview Manor and the American Diabetes Association. Elizabeth Zinn died peacefully in her sleep at Parkview Manor in Wellman on Monday, April 25, 2016.
Elizabeth (Willer) Zinn was born May 7, 1930, in Orloff, Russia, the daughter of Jacob and Kathrina (Rumpel) Willer. She was united in marriage to Woldemar Zinn at the Eicher Mennonite Church in Wayland on Oct. 8, 1950. The couple lived in the Wayland area until moving to Kalona in 1957. Elizabeth was a member of the Kalona Mennonite Church and enjoyed crocheting, needlework, gardening and traveling.
Survivors include two daughters, Elsa (Anthony) Trotto of Rochester, N.Y., and Judy (Gregory) Nagel of Wellman; daughter-in-law, Brenda Zinn Vanderploeg of South Hampton, Ontario; seven grandchildren, Anthony (Caroline) Trotto, Christopher (Julia) Trotto, Michelle (John) Gibbs, Lori (Ted) Borowiak, Gregg (Meg) Nagel, Michael Zinn and Valerie Zinn; 14 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Joe (Barb) Willer of Portsmouth, N.H.
Preceding Elizabeth in death were her parents; her husband, Woldemar; one son, Jacob Zinn; grandson, Charles Nagel; two sisters, Maria Brubacher and Anna Dumke; and one brother, Jacob Willer.
