Elizabeth "Betty" Rose Wright, 54, of Tipton, passed away at her home in the presence of her loving family, on Friday, Feb. 28, 2014. Visitation services for Betty will be Tuesday, March 4, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Fry Funeral Home in Tipton, with a rosary at 3:30 p.m. for friends and family. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tipton. Betty will be laid to rest at Tipton Masonic Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at St. Mary's Hall following graveside services.
Memorials may be made in Betty's honor to Hospice Compassus, Cedar County Public Health or Women of St. Mary's.

Betty was born Jan.15, 1960, the daughter of Leonard and Mary Ellen Weiland, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Betty was a 1978 graduate of Lincoln Community High School and earned her bachelor's degree in family and consumer sciences from Iowa State University. Betty married Kevin Wright in Me-chanicsville at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Aug. 29, 1992. Together they loved and raised their children, Alisha, Ryan, Joel and Benjamen.
Betty was a clerical employee for ACT for 14 years. She also worked at the Tipton Senior Center, Tipton State Bank and Hawkeye Bank. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tipton. She served on St. Bernadette's Circle and was a past board member of Cedar County Coordinated Child Care.
Betty enjoyed gardening, volleyball, flowerbeds, playing with her dog, Chloe, redecorating the house, reading, spending time with her family and friends and was a devout follower of Christ her entire life.
Betty is loved and survived by her mother, Mary Ellen Weiland of Stanwood; husband, Kevin of Tipton; daughter, Alisha Wright of Tipton; sons, Ryan Wright of Tipton, Joel (Shelby) Mixdorf of Iowa City and Benjamen Mixdorf of Sioux City; brothers, Thomas (Dawn) Weiland of Stanwood, Charles (Kathy) Weiland of Remsen, Iowa, and Michael (Laurie) Weiland of Cedar Rapids; and sister-in-law, Arlene Weiland of North Liberty, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1997 and her brother, Eugene "Buzz" Weiland.
Betty's greatest joy was spending time and making memories with her children.
