Elizabeth J. Van Sickle, 88, a resident of Summit Pointe Senior Living, died there Saturday, April 5, 2014, after a long illness. Per Liz's request there will be no service or visitation. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Mausoleum columbarium, Cedar Rapids. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Merle "Van" of Marion; and a son, Gene (Rita) of Phoenix, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jon; and a sister, Mildred.
Liz was born April 7, 1925, in Greeley, the daughter of George and Gladys Mittelstadt Reed. She married Merle "Van" Van Sickle on June 5, 1943, in Greeley. Liz was a homemaker and a member of the Elks Club.
She was a wonderful wife and mother whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Memorial donations may be given to the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
