Edina, MN
Elizabeth Friedenfeld, nee Erdman, of Edina, MN was born January 28, 1959 in Cedar Rapids, IA. She passed away December 14, 2025, at Methodist Hospital in St Louis Park, MN. Liz was the beloved daughter of Bernard and Madlyn (O’Connor) Erdman. She is survived by her older siblings Michael (Sheila) Erdman, Cedar Rapids, IA; Molly Erdman Martin, Naperville, IL; Prudence O’Connor, Edina, MN; Kevin (Nancy) Erdman, Minnetrista, MN; and Ellen (John) Huston, Rochester, MN.
Her three loving children are Madlyn, Brooklyn, NY; Willian, Denver, CO; and Jake, Chicago, IL, who have grown to be the best image of their mother.
Liz graduated from Washington High School in 1977, in Cedar Rapids, IA. She attended Marquette University and graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Business Administration. She married Peter Friedenfeld on April 30, 1988. In addition to being a loving and caring mother to her three children, she had careers in cosmetic and fashion retailing. Liz was always dressed in the latest fashions and looked amazing in everything she wore. She was a wonderful cook and baked delicious pastries, and loved to entertain family and friends in her home. Liz was also an accomplished equestrian and had a life-long love of horses, dogs, cats and most anything with four legs. She had a wonderful and sometimes sarcastic sense of humor that endeared her to all.
In addition to her three children and former husband, Peter, Liz would like to be remembered by her friends Mary Hedges Seyfer, Coleen McMahon and Doug Hoskins.
Liz chose cremation which has occurred, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank the wonderful and caring staff at Methodist Hospital, St. Louis Park, MN who helped make Liz’s last days as comfortable as possible. They were truly amazing.
