Elizabeth "Bunny" DeWoody, 89, died Monday, Jan. 16, 2017, at the Anamosa Care Center following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, at Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, with interment in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call after 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Surviving are three children, Richard Warner of Anamosa, Luanne Warner Frett of Urbandale and Lynnette (John) Darrow of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four siblings, Stanley (Pat) Morning of Minocqua, Wis., Carl (Nancy) Morning of Cedar Rapids, Sonya Rice of Rockford, Ill., and Joanne McBain of Waco, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hal; a sister, Carlita; and a brother, John.
Elizabeth Rae Morning was born Aug. 31, 1927, in Monticello, Iowa. She was the daughter of Carl and Mary Postel Morning. Bunny graduated from the Monticello Community Schools in 1946. She moved to Cedar Rapids and became one the first "Meter Maids" in the city. She later worked at Link Belt Speeder until she retired. Bunny married Hal DeWoody in February 1972 at St. Paul Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids. Bunny and Hal moved to Anamosa in 1984.
Bunny bowled in a league at Jubilee Lanes for many years. She was an avid reader and loved to garden, especially tomatoes and cucumbers. More than anything she saw her beloved Chicago Cubs win the World Series.
