Elizabeth "Beth" Glass, 95, of Marion, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2015, at Cottage Grove Care Center in Cedar Rapids. Funeral services will be at noon Friday, Aug. 7, at the First Presbyterian Church in Marion. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home. A private burial will take place before the funeral service.
Beth was born Oct. 9, 1919, in Coggon, Iowa, to Glen and Nina (Timpson) Ellis. She graduated from Coggon High School and the University of Dubuque. Beth was united in marriage to George A. Glass on Sept. 5, 1942, in Dubuque.
She is survived by her two children, Barb (Bill) Ritter of Marion and Bob (Sara) Glass of New Albany, Ind.; four grandchildren, Tracie Carson, Corey (Jen) Ritter, Sarah (Travis) Offerman and Laura (Brandon) Dabb; and four great-grandchildren, Bailey, Caitlyn, Matthew and Elliot.
Beth was preceded in death by her husband, George; her parents; granddaughter, Jamie Ritter; brother, Keith (Margaret) Ellis; and sister, Cleo (Bernard) Carson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Mercy.
The family would like to thank Cottage Grove Place nurses and staff and Hospice of Mercy for their compassionate care.
