Elizabeth A. “Liz” Stolba, 76, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2024, at Hiawatha Care Center. A private graveside service will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
Liz was born on August 27, 1947, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Bernice (nee Milligan) and Woodrow “W.W.” Stolba. She graduated from Washington High School in 1965 and attended St. Luke’s Nursing School. She worked at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and Rockwell Collins. Liz married Ken Baxa in 1972, and they later divorced. She was an active member of Sweet Adelines for several years.
Survivors include her sister Trish (Keith) Kramer of Swisher, nephew Noah (Kandace) Kramer and great-nephew Leo of Sachse, TX, and nephew Sam (Amanda) Kramer and great-nieces Brynlee and Alaina of Ely.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
The family wishes to thank Hiawatha Care Center and Dr. Nelson for their excellent care of Liz.
