Elias, Paul C.
Paul C. Elias, 70, of Des Moines, formerly of Marion, died Oct. 30, 2009, at home. Private interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his children, Karen S. Elias, Barbara E. Wagoner and John M. Elias; grandchildren, Kelsey, Cameron and Kyleigh Elias; and a sister, Sharon (Elias) Murphy.
He was preceded in death by C. Robert and Lillian (Brennan) Elias.
Paul joined Army ROTC while continuing his chemical engineering studies at the University of Iowa. A significant contributor to the NASA Space industry, his career included senior efforts at Collins Radio Co., General Electric and Litton Industries. Facing many challenges, he later earned a master's degree in education at his alma mater setting forth on a new career path as a rehabilitation counselor for the State of Iowa Department of Education.
