Ossian
Eleanora Franzen, 91, of Ossian, died Sunday, June 12, 2016, at the Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 17, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 420 E. Main St., Ossian, with the Rev. Robert Gross presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday and also after 9 a.m. Friday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be given to the Ossian Senior Hospice, 114 Fisher St., Ossian, IA 52161. Schluter-Balik Funeral Home in Decorah is handling the arrangements.
Eleanora is survived by her 13 children, Sharon Kay (Phil) Stoddard of Independence, Keevin (Mary) Franzen of Dubuque, Clyde (Debra) Franzen of Ossian, Dean (Joann) Franzen of Elkader, Ivan (Karen) Franzen of Ossian, Inez (Larry) Brincks of Decorah, Brian (Judy) Franzen of Decorah, Phyllis (Curt) Krambeer of Cedar Rapids, Joyce (Randy) Tietz of Cedar Rapids, Arlin (Jill) Franzen of Ossian, Lester (Cindy) Franzen of Waverly, Rodney (Lynn) Franzen of Ossian and Terry (Meghan Herold) Franzen of Ossian; along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
