Eleanor F. Price, 88, of Central City, passed away Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016, at Promise House Assisted Living Center in Hiawatha. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City. Funeral services:
2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, at Alice United Methodist Church, Center Point, with visitation from 1 p.m. until service time. Burial: Alice Cemetery, Center Point.
Survivors include her children, Roger (Connie) Price of Collinsville, Okla., Cindy (Ed) Roalf of Marion, Pam (Jeff) Morris of Wesley and Brad (Bev) Price of Alburnett; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Jean Caldwell and MaryLou Robinson, both of Coggon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ervin; one son, Charles; and her brother, Donald Henderson.
Eleanor was born Sept. 30, 1927, to Floyd L. and Lucille C. (Kirkpatrick) Henderson in Ryan. She graduated from Coggon High School in 1945. Eleanor married Ervin Price on Jan. 27, 1946, in Coggon. She was a homemaker and worked for Alburnett Schools as a cook for 12 years.
She loved quilting and sewing. Eleanor volunteered her time making chemo hats and lap robes for Camp Courageous. Eleanor and Jr. loved square dancing with the Guys & Dolls Club. Eleanor was a member of Alice United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Promise House for the care and compassion shown to Eleanor.
