Eldred "Pee Wee" Plotz, 90, of Walford, passed away Monday, June 26, 2017, at his son's home in Delhi, Iowa. There will be a Celebration of Life gathering at Eldred's home in Walford on Saturday, July 22, from 2 to 6 p.m. Burial will be in Marengo Cemetery, Marengo.
Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Memorials may be contributed to the Alzheimer's Association, Honor Flight of Cedar Rapids or Safe Haven of Iowa County.
Eldred is survived by his son, Eldred (Janelle) Plotz Jr. of Delhi; two brothers, Parlyn (Helen) Plotz of Marengo and John (Trudy) Plotz of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; a son, David, in infancy; three brothers, Leo, Melvin and Jerry Plotz; and a sister, Mary.
Eldred David Plotz was born May 18, 1927, in rural Marengo, the son of Rudolph and Elizabeth McGuire Plotz. He was united in marriage to Ida Leona Wyant on Oct. 20, 1949, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Norway. Eldred worked at Wilson Foods in Cedar Rapids, as well as Farmstead, where he retired after 35 years.
