Elaine Zahs, 90, of Ainsworth, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014, at the Pleasantview Home in Kalona from infirmities of old age. Celebration of Life services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, at Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington, with Mike Zahs officiating. Calling hours will begin 10 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 1 until 3 p.m. Interment will be at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington.
Memorials have been established for Salem Church of God and Camp Courageous.

Elaine is survived by her son, Michael D. Zahs and wife Julie of Riverside; son, Donald G. Zahs and wife Sandra of Coralville; daughter, Kathryn M. Johnson and husband James of Miles; daughter, Carolyn F. Dohrmann and husband Joel of Dewitt; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; aunt, Wanda Skubal of Washington, Iowa; and former daughter-in-law, Nannette Zahs.
