Elaine Ruth Sebetka, 74, of Norway, died Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Celebration of life gathering for Elaine will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.
Elaine was born Sept. 21, 1941, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Leonard and Henrietta (Prasil) Reif. She graduated from Cedar Rapids Jefferson High School in 1959. Elaine was united in marriage to Victor Sebetka on Sept. 15, 1959, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fairfax.
Elaine and Victor worked together on their dairy farm, along with raising their children. She enjoyed her cats and chickens, working on crossword puzzles, watching soap operas, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Elaine is survived by her husband, Victor; their children: Donna (Steve) Husak of Cedar Rapids, and their children, Bryce (Kelsey) Husak, Kylee (Garrett) Rucinski and Aubrey Husak; Mark (Dolores) Sebetka of Atkins, and their daughters, Emily (Jed) Johnson and Anna Sebetka; Lyn (Philip) Koenig of Poynette, Wis., and their children, Olivia and Grant Koenig; Lori (Alan) Arnold of Lisbon, and their children, Leah, Jay and Vance Arnold; Amy (Nasser) Hanna of Fishers, Ind., and their children, Nick, Reece, Erin and Morgan Hanna; two great-grandchildren, Lincoln Husak and Simeon Rucinski; her brother, Alvin (Donna) Reif, and her sister, Anita (Tom) Heaverlo, both of Cedar Rapids; as well as her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her infant sister, Dorothy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
The family wishes to extend a special thank-you to the staff at Virginia Gay Dialysis Center, Benton County Transport and Heritage Nursing and Rehab for its loving care for Elaine and her family.
