Elaine Mae (Hennings) Pippert, 88, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019, at the Keystone Nursing Care Center.
Memorial visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2019, at the Phillips Funeral Home in Keystone. A celebration of Elaine's life and luncheon will follow at 5:30 p.m. at the Keystone Turner Hall. Interment will be held at the Keystone Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left for the Keystone Cemetery or the Keystone Volunteer Fire Department.
Elaine was born on Feb. 21, 1930, in Keystone, the daughter of Lloyd and Helen (Jordt) Hennings. She graduated from Keystone High School with the Class of 1948. She attended business college for one year. On Nov. 18, 1949, she was united in marriage to Paul Pippert in Van Horne.
The couple farmed for many years, and Elaine managed the Belle Plaine Country Club from 1982 to 1997. She was an avid sports fan and loved watching her grandchildren participate in school sports.
She is survived by two sons, Craig Pippert and Doug (Becky) Pippert, all of Keystone; two daughters, Teresa (Jim) Quass of Arcadia, Iowa, and Lisa Pickering of Van Horne; six grandchildren, Tim (Cinda) Quass, Erin (Rick) Sundrup, Jason (Lydia) Pippert, Grant (Whitney) Pippert, Travis Suchomel and Amanda (Miles) Hutton; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Denman (Gwen) Hennings of Dysart and Jack Hennings of Blakesburg; her sister, Judy McIlrath of Story City; and her sister-in-law Dixie Holtz of Sherman Oaks, Calif.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Paul, Elaine was preceded in death by her daughter, Sheila; son-in-law, Darris Pickering; and two sisters, Bev Parizek and Betty Nolan.
