At the tender age of 100, Elaine M. Johnson met her maker. She passed away on Nov. 9, 2021, at Methwick Community.
Elaine was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa, on Aug. 15, 1921, the daughter of Helene (Kieffer) and Arthur Kazarowski. She grew up in Kewanee, Ill., where she met and married Raymond K. Johnson on June 8, 1939. They moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 1944, where they raised their family. Elaine was a member of Trinity Methodist Church, and a long-time member of Kings Daughters and Sons. She volunteered at St. Luke's Hospital for many years and was a group leader for Camp Fire Girls. Elaine enjoyed bird watching and taking walks with her family and friends.
Elaine is survived by her four children, Allen Johnson of Watkins, Iowa, Richard (Dena) Johnson of Loveland, Colo., Brian Johnson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Carol (John) Ramussen of Battle Creek, Mich. She has five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Elaine will be remembered for her compassionate and caring nature.
