Eiler, Harold E.
Funeral services for Harold E. Eiler, 93, of Tipton, who passed in his sleep Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, will be held Saturday, Feb. 16, at 10:30 a.m. at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton, with Pastor Paul Frederiksen officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Tipton Masonic Cemetery.
Harold was born Oct. 22, 1919, to Henry and Edith Eiler. He graduated from Tipton Consolidated School in 1938. He married Neola Woods of Mechanicsville on May 8, 1946. Harold served his country during World War II and he spent his life farming and raising Angus.
Harold was a member of the Tipton American Legion, Tipton Methodist Church, a leader of the Center Ring Leaders 4-H for 18 years, a Tipton school board member, a Tipton Lions Club member for 50 years, and past officer in the Iowa Angus Association.
The Eilers hosted 18 foreign students and guests through FFA, IFYE, and the Angus business.
Harold is survived by his three children, Linda Boots, Tipton, Steve Eiler, Tipton, and Randy Eiler, Texas; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his sister, Lucile Kirk, Tipton; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Neola; daughter, Carol Ann; and his brother, Willard.
