Eileen M. Riley, 101, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Fort Madison, passed away Thursday, Jan. 30, 2020, at West Ridge Care Center in Cedar Rapids.
She was born April 20, 1918, in Fort Madison to Oscar and Mary Ann Roxlau Huntsinger. On Nov. 30, 1939, she married Paul W. Riley. He passed away May 20, 2001. Eileen worked at Sheaffer Pen Co., JC Penney and Well's Fabric Store. She was of the Catholic faith and a former member of Ss. Mary and Joseph Church. Eileen enjoyed sewing, reading, playing cards and dice games. Her greatest enjoyment was her family. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include one son, Brad (Nancy) Riley of St. Louis, Mo.; and two daughters, Carol Black of Mesa, Ariz., and the late Delbert Black; and Kathy (Kevin) Miller of Norway, Iowa. Eileen had 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and daughter, Nancy Webb.
The memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 3, at Ss. Mary and Joseph Church in Fort Madison. The family will meet with friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
Per her wishes, cremation has been entrusted to the care of King-Lynk Funeral Home and Crematory. A memorial has been established for the Alzheimer's Association. Online condolences may be left at www.kinglynk.com.
