Ehlts, Linda
Linda Ehlts, 63, of St. Louis, Mo., formerly of Monticello, died Wednesday, July 4, 2012. Celebration of Life services for Linda will be held Saturday morning, Aug. 4, at 11 o'clock at Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, where friends may call after 10 a.m. The Rev. Al Polito will officiate at the services. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery.
Surviving are two sisters, Donna Ehlts and Marcia (Mike) Tschantz, both of Monticello; a niece, Tonia (Lewis) Ballentine; and great-niece and great-nephew, Ashlynn and Alex; and her longtime friend, Deloris Huddleston of Hazelwood, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Linda Ehlts was born Dec. 18, 1948, in Monticello, Iowa, the daughter of Jack and Laura (Like) Ehlts. Linda graduated from Monticello High School in 1967. She worked at John McDonald Hospital as a Candy Striper and at the Dairy Mart. She continued her education at the St. Louis School of Nursing, later working at St. Louis City Hospital, Christian North East Hospital, Missouri Baptist Hospital, Chester Field Personal Touch Home Health Care, Chesterfield Care Center and Rosemont Care Center, all in St. Louis. She later worked for Liberty Mutual Insurance in Peoria and St. Louis as a workman's compensation nurse. Following her retirement from Liberty Mutual Linda cared for several elderly people in her condominium complex.
