Ehlers, Michelle Schenck
Michelle Schenck Ehlers, 44, of Monticello, passed on Tuesday evening, Dec. 8, 2009, at her home with her family and close friend at her side following a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the First Presbyterian Church, Monticello, with interment in the Oakwood Cemetery at a later date. The Rev. Al Polito will officiate at the services. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.

Surviving is her loving husband of 24 years, Kenny; two daughters, Lindsay (Justin) Shover and Shelby Ehlers and fiance, Tyler Houdeshell; a grandson, Chase Shover; her parents, David and Joanne Schenck; a brother, David (Kim) Schenck Jr.; her grandmother, Laura Ambuehl, all of Monticello; and two nephews, D.J. (Jenn) Schenck and Mitch Schenck.
She was preceded in death by her infant brother, Arnold; maternal grandfather, Leo Ambuehl; and paternal grandparents, Judson and Lillian Schenck. Michelle Lynn Schenck was born May 31, 1965, at the John McDonald Hospital, Monticello, Iowa. She was the daughter of David and Joanne Ambuehl Schenck. Michelle received her education in the Monticello Community Schools and Kirkwood College. Michelle Schenck and Kenny Ehlers were married July 20, 1985, at the First Presbyterian Church, Monticello. The couple made their home in Monticello, where Michelle was employed at Orbis for the past 25 years. She loved going boating with her family and riding her motorcycle.
