Egger, Louise Johanna
Louise Johanna Egger died peacefully Monday, Sept. 10, 2012, at the Monticello Nursing and Rehab Center. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14, at the United Church of Monticello, with burial in the Oakwood Cemetery. The Rev. Edwin Moreano will officiate at the services. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Goettsch Funeral Home.

Louise Eiben was born July 8, 1917, to Eibo F. and Johanna Gesine (Fehners) Eiben of Castle Grove Township, west of Monticello. She was baptized and confirmed at S.S. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church. Her early education was in a one-room school near her home. She graduated from Monticello High School in 1935. In 1937, she married Herman Egger from rural Hopkinton. They lived on the family farm and raised five daughters, Marlene (Alan) Meeker, Marion, Arlene (Richard) Hanssen and Phyllis (Don) Tapken of Monticello, Rose (Dennis) Killinger of Tampa, Fla., and Joyce (Scott) Hornstein of Huxley.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Herman on Sept. 26, 2000; an infant daughter, Jean Lois; all of her eight Eiben siblings; and a nephew and niece.
To cherish her memory are her five daughters, 6 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
