Edwin Wayne Starks, 68, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Springville, died at St. Luke's Hospice Unit on Friday, Dec. 8, 2017. Services: 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, at United Methodist Church, Springville, with visitation at 9:30 a.m. at the church. Burial following the services: Springville Cemetery with military rights.
Edwin is survived by his son, Jamie (Wendy) Starks; six grandchildren; his brothers, Richard (Angie) Starks and Russell (Lori) Starks; sisters, Virginia (Larry) Burkey, Linda (Skip) Butler, Wanda (Donald) Krapfl and Ethel Jones; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Virginia Starks.
Edwin was born on Nov. 3, 1949. He graduated from Springville High School in 1966. Edwin served four years in the U.S. Air Force. He fought and was wounded in the Vietnam War. He received an American Service Medal. He held jobs in New York until he came back to Iowa, where he had odd jobs over the past several years.
