Edwards, Brad Douglas
Brad Douglas Edwards, 53, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa. Pastor Laurie Riley will officiate at the service. Friends may call starting at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Antioch Cemetery in rural Anamosa.
Surviving are his parents, Terry and Cecelia Edwards of Hiawatha; his children, Krystal (Drew) Miller of Enterprise, Kan., and Brandon (Stephanie) Edwards of Junction City, Kan.; grandchildren, Bailey, Hunter, Brody and Braxton Edwards, Cougar and Gavin and soon to be baby Miller; a sister, Christine Edwards (Jeff Conley) of Hiawatha; and a brother, Craig Edwards of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Diana Heasty and Robert and Roe Jean Edwards.
Brad Douglas Edwards was born June 19, 1959, in Anamosa, Iowa, the son of Terry and Cecelia Heasty Edwards. Brad was a 1978 graduate of Anamosa High School. On Aug. 15, 1981, Brad and Kathy Sickles were united in marriage at the United Methodist Church in Anamosa. The couple later separated. Brad was self-employed in the drywall business.
He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, Frisbee golf, bird watching, gardening, going to the beach, riding bikes and grilling out. The thing he treasured most was the time he was given to spend with his family and friends.
He was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother and friend and will be missed dearly by those closest to him.
