Edward J. Koza Jr., 86, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023.
A funeral service celebrating his life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2023, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Entombment will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Cedar Memorial Chapel Stateroom.
Survivors include his son, Todd (Cathy) Koza of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Amy (Larry) Tubbs of Cape Coral, Fla.; two grandchildren, Taylor and Alyssa; and a great-grandson, Jensen; siblings, Gary (Paula) Koza of St. Augustine, Fla., Sheryl (Phil) Lang of Cedar Rapids, and Jean (Joel) Leider of Andover, Mass.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Joanne, in 2013.
Edward John Koza Jr. was born Jan. 18, 1937, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Edward Sr. and Irene (Gibbons) Koza. He graduated from Franklin High School and then served an enlistment in the U.S. Navy. On Aug. 18, 1963, Ed married Joanne Bruhn in Miles, Iowa.
He worked for Rockwell-Collins as a supervisor for many years, retiring in 1991. Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating on the Mississippi River and Lake Rathbun, golfing, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in his name to Camp Courageous, 12007 190th St., Monticello, IA 52310.
