Edward M. "Ed" Fults, 83, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Sunday, June 6, 2021, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, Iowa. Memorial service: 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 11, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, with visitation to begin one hour prior. Inurnment: Troy Mills Cemetery, Troy Mills, Iowa.
Ed was born July 29, 1937, in Palmer, Tenn., the son of Theron and Josephine (Brown) Fults. He was united in marriage to Katheryn "Kat" Stoner on Nov. 12, 1955, in Newton. Ed worked at Rockwell Goss until retirement in 2000. He was a member of IAM Local No. 831. Ed was an outdoorsman who loved to fish and spend time on the Yellow River. He enjoyed playing cards, especially poker. Ed always thought the best times in life were with his family and friends.
Survivors include his children, Robert (Sue) Fults and Christine Fults, all of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; siblings, Bruce (Danette) Fults of Ottumwa, Iowa, and Anna Britton of Hudson, Fla.; daughter-in-law, Charlene Fults of Marion, Iowa; special friend, Karen Fults of Coralville, Iowa; and sister-in-law, Imogene Fults.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theron and Josephine Fults; wife, Katheryn "Kat" Fults; son, Steven W. Fults; and siblings, Joe, Brenda, Marvin, Leon, Skip, Hughey and Gene.
