Edna Lucille Hamilton, 104, of Tipton, died Dec. 17, 2015, at Cedar Manor Nursing Home, Tipton. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 28, at First United Methodist Church, Tipton. Private family graveside service and burial will be at Tipton Masonic Cemetery. There will be a time of food and fellowship immediately following the funeral service, also at First United Methodist Church.
Memorials, in honor of Edna, may be directed to Cedar Manor or First United Methodist Church, Tipton.

Edna Lucille (Hambright) Hamilton was born in Tipton, Iowa, on Feb. 20, 1911, to Bruce and Bessie Hambright. Following graduation from Tipton High School in 1930, she was employed as office secretary for 9 1/2 years with Farm Bureau and Iowa State University Extension Office before being united in marriage to Howard Hamilton on July 7, 1940. She was secretary to her husband in his last year (1972) as state representative in Des Moines.
Edna was a member of United Methodist Church, Tipton; United Methodist Women; P.E.O.; 19th Century Club; Child Conservation Club and Ikebana (Flower Arranging Club). She also enjoyed travels abroad, as well as in the United States.
Edna lived a very fulfilling life as wife, mother and community worker.
Edna is survived by her three sons, Bryce (Donna) Hamilton of Minneapolis, Dennis (Diane) Hamilton of Walnut Creek, Calif., and Jim Hamilton of Iowa City; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Paul, Harold and Wallace; husband, Howard; and her son, Jerry Lee Hamilton.
