Edith H. Tucker, 103, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017, at Heritage Nursing Home in Cedar Rapids. Funeral services: 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 6, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Edith was born May 20, 1914, in Milo, Iowa, the daughter of Lawrence and Emma (Wadle) Putz. Edith was the middle child of a family of 13. On July 3, 1939, Edith married Ray Tucker in Des Moines, Iowa. They had two daughters, Janet and Jeann. Edith and Ray operated the family business, Ray's Fruit Market.
Edith is survived by a daughter, Jeann Howse of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Marcella Robbins of Des Moines and Wanda Sedor of California; one brother, Don Putz of Des Moines; and two special nephews, Dennis Kelly and wife and David Kelly and wife.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; children, Janet Tucker, Alvin Tucker, Edith Curtis, Francis Tucker and Bill Tucker; son-in-law, Bob Howse; and nine of her siblings.
