EDITH NIETERT Central City Edith L. Struck Nietert, 88, a resident of Summit Pointe, Marion, formerly of Central City, died Friday, Feb. 6, 2015, at Northbrook Manor Care Center in Cedar Rapids. Funeral services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, at United Church of Christ in Central City. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion, and one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday. Burial: Mount Clark Cemetery, Central City. Survivors include her children, James (Cathie) Struck, Gary Struck and Steven (Leanne) Struck; brother, Howard DuBois; nine grandchildren, Troy Tutton, Toby Tutton, Joe Struck, Jeffrey Struck, Julie Struck, Todd Struck, Clint Gassman, Cameron Struck and Collin Struck; 12 great-grandchildren, Garret Struck, Taylor Tutton, Timmy Tutton, Kenze Tutton, Kielyn Tutton, Kaci Tutton, Jordan Struck, Matthew Struck, Isaiah Struck, Ashton Cose, Leilah Struck, and Chayse Struck; and one great-great-grandchild, Karsyn Ray. She was preceded in death by her biological parents, Harvey and Hazel DuBois; her adoptive parents, Edward and Madge DuBois; three brothers, Leo, Edward and LaVernn DuBois; three sisters, Mavis Haas, Alice DuBois and Charlotte Downs; daughter, Linda Tutton; granddaughter, Taree K. Cose; and her two husbands, Glenn Struck and LeRoy Nietert. Edith was born March 23, 1926, the daughter of Harvey and Hazel (Shaw) DuBois, on a farm northeast of Manchester. She was later adopted and raised by Edward and Madge DuBois on a farm near Central City. She graduated from Central City High School in 1943. Edith married Glenn Struck on Nov. 24, 1943, in Vallejo, Calif. Glenn passed away Jan. 3, 1981. On Sept. 22, 1989, Edith married LeRoy Nietert. Edith loved her home, her family and spending time with her grand-children. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and working crossword puzzles. She was a former Campfire Girls leader and a member of the Iowa Council for many years, a 50-year member of Eastern Star No. 49 and a lifetime member of the Central City Historical Society. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her beloved family and friends.
