Edgeton, Marilynn Lucille

Marilynn Lucille Edgeton, 85, of Fairfield, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2011, at the Jefferson County Health Center. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church, Fairfield, with Pastor Mike Metz and Pastor Nate Nims officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield. Interment will be at Sugar Grove Cemetery, near Newton, Iowa. Arrangements in care of the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Those left to honor her memory include daughter, Nancy (Randy) Krutzfield of Iowa City; two sons, Jim (LeAnne) Edgeton of Fairfield, and Tom (Laura Fair) Edgeton of Kirkwood, Mo.; five grandsons, Ryan Edgeton, David Edgeton, Jim Edgeton III and fiancee Adena Schnedler, Jon Edgeton and Mark Krutzfield; two sisters; and one brother.

Deceased family members include her husband; her parents; a brother, George Hitchler; and a daughter-in-law, Laura Van Dyke Edgeton.

Marilynn was born March 11, 1926, at Newton, Iowa, the daughter of John and Merle Anthony Hitchler. She met James William Edgeton in Newton and they married August 9, 1942, in Kansas City, Mo. Jim passed away on Oct. 11, 2009, following their celebration of 62 years of marriage.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church or to Sunnybrook Assisted Living Center in Fairfield.
