Eddie "Tank" Ayers Jr., 71, of Cedar Rapids, died on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022. Celebration of Life: 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Cedar Rapids, followed by a luncheon.
Survivors include his mother, Catherine Boyd; wife, Karlene Ayers; children, Heath Ayers, Evalina Johnson, Edwina Ayers, Easton Ayers, Ean Ayers, Evan Ayers, Edrean Ayers, Ethen Ayers, Edrick Ayers, EdLena Ayers, Eddie Ayers III, Edejah Ayers, EdLesia Ayers, EdLivea Ayers, Jason Blackcloud, Dari Hoosman, Melinda Henderson and Tyson Hathaway; and several grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his siblings, Lucille Montgomery, Lena Phillips, Jesse Boyd, Dorothy White and Clevland White.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis Elaine Ayers; sister, Mary Boyd; father, Eddie Ayers, Sr.; and father, Kermit Boyd.
