Ed Ross, 74, formerly of Stanwood and Tipton, peacefully entered eternity on Saturday, March 10, 2018, in the Davis Center, Bloomfield, Iowa. Ed's funeral and Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, March 14, at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary of First United Church of Christ, Tipton. Pastor Tommi Boeder will officiate. Coffee and cookies will follow immediately, and then Ed will be laid to rest in Red Oak Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 13, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Ed was a member of First United Church of Christ of Tipton and the Tipton Lions Club. Ed joined the Tipton Boy Scouts Troop 177 and earned his Eagle Scout award on Aug. 15, 1991, and became a member of the Cho-Gun-Mun-A-Nock Lodge 467. He loved his family, the Tipton Tigers, the Iowa Hawkeyes, his two dogs, Killer and Kelley, and was a friend to any and all.
Ed was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Jane Ross Goursh; his foster parents, Harvey and Helen Lund and Ed and Emma Myers; and his foster brother-in-law, Roland Meyers.
Ed is survived by his sister-of-choice, Alecia Meyers of Stanwood, Iowa; nieces of choice, Kim and Doug Wyman of Central City, Iowa, and Kristin and Brian Barkes of Paw Paw, Mich.; and his great-nephews, Michael and Ben Pearson.
