Eberhart, Etta Joan
Etta Joan Eberhart, 82, of Iowa City, formerly of Pawnee, Okla., died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at Solon Nursing Care Center. Committal services will be at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Ralston, Okla.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Solon Care Center. Arrangements are with Lensing Funeral Service in Iowa City.
Joan was born Sept. 21, 1930, in Ralston, the daughter of James and Mary “Irene” (Wilhelm) Cummings. She was raised near Ralston and married Tony Eberhart on July 20, 1949, in Perkins, Okla.
She enjoyed crafts, fishing and camping with her husband, Tony, and antiquing. Joan never met an antique dish that she didn't like! She moved to Iowa City with her husband in 2011.
Survivors include her children, Carol Ann Eberhart of San Antonio, Cheryl Lynn (Chuck) Smith of Iowa City, Martin Anthony Eberhart of Lexington, Okla. and Melia (Dick) Douglas of Cordell, Okla.; six grandchildren, Amber, Seth, James, Sarah, Cole and Case; six great-grandchildren, Sullivan, Jacob, Summer, Mya, Silas and Bryce; a sister, Carol June (John) Larkins of Alabama; a sister-in-law, Geraldine Mitchell of Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2012; sisters, Wanda, Virginia, Madleine and Marie; and a brother, Jake.
