Eastwood, James L. Sr.
James L. Eastwood, Sr., 76, died Monday, July 4, 2011, at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2011 at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E Sixth St., Vinton, with Pastor Larry Rodgers officiating. Interment will be held at Salem Cemetery in Van Horne, with graveside military rites conducted by Emil H. Dutler American Legion Post #177 of Mount Auburn. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday. A memorial fund has been established.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel of Vinton; his son, James L. (Mandy) Eastwood, Jr. of Vinton; his daughter, Dixie (Wayne) Davis of Garrison; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and his brother, Leo Dale Eastwood of Solon.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
