Easton, Thomas E.
Thomas E. Easton, 68, of Marion, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at home surrounded by family. A Memorial Mass will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by Father David Beckman. Visitation will begin after 9 a.m. Saturday at the church. Inurnment will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Ed is survived by his wife, Sharon; his mother, Margaret; daughters, Melanie (Mark) Svoboda and Theresa (Peter) Peterson-Easton; seven sisters, Jean (Michael) Starr, Mary (Jon) Hart, Rita (Bruce) McCall, Nancy (Brian) Heineman, Sue (Craig) Petitt, Dee (Paul) Youngblut and Jane (Lee) McFee; two brothers, Mike (Carolyn) Easton and Frank (Paula) Easton; four grandsons, Devon, James, Dylan and Jacob; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Thomas Edward Easton was born May 26, 1944, in Centerville, Iowa, to Thomas H. and Margaret J. Easton. He served with the U.S. Navy and later worked over 39 years with Martin Marietta Sand Division. On March 12, 1970, he married Sharon Hibbs in Santa Ana in Orange County, Calif.
Ed, a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church, was a quiet man who dedicated his life to serving his family.
Memorials may be sent in his name to Hospice of Mercy.
