Earl Foley, 88, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories Stateroom.
Earl was born Oct. 6, 1929, the son of John and Alta (Ward) Foley in Gregory Landing, Mo. Earl retired from Rockwell Collins after 31 years of employment. He served as a sergeant in the Army from 1948 to 1953. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed watching sports, especially the New York Yankees, and attending his grandchildren's activities.
Earl was preceded in death by his father and mother and his brother-in-law, Donald Glover.
Left to cherish Earl's memories are his wife of 64 years, Joann; and his children: daughter, Melinda Foley of Omaha, Neb., and son, Steve and Lisa (Melsa) Foley, and their children, Taylor Foley and Jackson Foley, of Swisher; two sisters, Shirley (Foley) Glover of Mount Pleasant and Roberta (Foley) and Gene Howes of Hamilton, Ill.; three nieces; and a nephew.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Mercy in Earl's honor.
