Earhart, Lila
Lila Earhart, 73, of Burlington, formerly of Eldon, passed away at her home in Burlington on Monday, Sept. 5, 2011. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at Kremer Funeral Home in Eldon, with Pastor David Albert officiating and Kenneth Pilcher delivering the eulogy. Burial will be in Fiddler Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Kremer Funeral Home, Eldon, immediately before the funeral.
Lila Lorraine was born Feb. 23, 1938, in Stuart, Iowa, the daughter of Floyd and Ethel (Brooks) Pilcher. She graduated from Eldon Public High School in 1957. On Jan. 13, 1962, she married James L. Earhart in Eldon.
Survivors include her husband, Jim of Burlington; three sons, James Earhart and wife Beth of Hallsville, Mo., Dan Earhart of Burlington, and Edward Earhart and wife Julie of Burlington; six grandchildren, Breanna, Brittany, Cortney, Lorraine, David and Matthew; one brother, Kenneth Pilcher and wife Virginia of Cedar Rapids; one sister, Joy Cox of Eldon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and nine brothers and sisters.
Lila retired from Vista Bakery, where she had worked for many years. She was very family oriented, and her most perfect times were spent with her grandchildren, listening to music or sitting outside.
