DuVall, Alice Virginia
Alice Virginia Duvall, 91, a long-term resident of Cedar Rapids, died Feb. 12, 2011, in DeKalb, Ill. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father Thomas McDermott at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, at St. Ludmila Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids. Burial: St. John's Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the church. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Virginia is survived by three sisters, Vera Mohr of Manchester, Mary Vitalis Jones of Waterloo and Mary Joan Bowen of Boone, N.C.; her three sons, Stephen (Linda) of Mason City, Marvin of St. Louis, Mo., and Melvin (Claire) of DeKalb, Ill.; and six grandchildren, Megan, Laura, Julia (Stefan Hansen), Elise Duvall and Danika and Owen Duvall.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Delmar; her daughter, Marilyn; and her two brothers, Peter and Paul Wordehoff.
Virginia was born Feb. 9, 1920, to Charles and Dorothy (Reed) Wordehoff. She worked for many years as the children's librarian at St. Ludmila School.
