Dustin J. Lawrence passed away on Nov. 17, 2023, at UIHC after a brief illness. A celebration of life to be held in his honor is planned as opposed to a traditional funeral service. Date to be determined at a later date.

Dustin is survived by his parents Denise Erbes Healy and Rick (Nancy) Lawrence; brother, Ben (Racheal) Lawrence; nephew, Walker Lawrence; niece, Delaney Lawrence; stepbrother, Chad (Cindy) Nemecek; stepsister, Lisa Nemecek; along with several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Andrew Lawrence; his uncle, John Lawrence; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Dustin was born on Nov. 1, 1974, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, weighing in at 2 lbs, 11 ounces. A beautiful soul who arrived too early and has departed too soon.

Dustin was a 1993 graduate of Washington High School where he excelled in wrestling and football. He felt honored to be voted Senior Homecoming King.

He worked in the Food & Beverage industry for over 25 years. He worked several seasons with the National Parks Service in Yellowstone, and he enjoyed the off season in Sturgeon Bay, Wis.

Dustin had a quirky sense of humor. He could do hilarious impersonations of characters, and loved Dungeons & Dragons, Star Wars and disc golf.
