Dusterhoft, George M.
George M. Dusterhoft, 80, of Cape Coral, Fla., died Aug. 19, 2010. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Sept. 18 at Smith Funeral Home in Victor for George and Norma Dusterhoft. Norma passed away Dec. 3, 2006. His wish was to have the service for both at the same time.
Survivors include his children, Mark Dusterhoft, Julie (Jim) Kretzschmar and Tom (Ruth) Dusterhoft; grandchildren, Chad, Britt, Kirsten and Ryan; sisters, Mary (Richard) Sadler and Marquerite (Charles) Wickman.
George served in the Marines, farmed in the Victor area for 15 years, and worked at Quaker Oats, Cedar Rapids. George and Norma had many great years owning a Dairy Queen in Des Moines before retiring to Cape Coral, Fla. He spent the last six months in Kansas to be close to his children. Both were avid sport fans of the Iowa Hawkeyes.
