Durscher, Delphine Rae
Delphine Rae Durscher, 76, of West Union, passed away Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012, at her home in West Union. Private family services will be held at a later date. Leonard-Grau Funeral Home in Elgin, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements.
She was born Jan. 28, 1936, in West Union, the daughter of Raymond and Dorothy (Huntzberger) Rothmeyer. She attended country school in the Eldorado area and graduated from West Union High School in 1954. Delphine was united in marriage with Clarence Durscher in 1956, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Dephine and Clarence farmed east of West Union for many years. After moving to West Union, Delphine worked as a nurse's aide at the Good Samaritan Center for 15 years and then worked for Edward Jones.
Delphine is survived by her husband, Clarence of Fayette; four sons, Kevin (Lynn) Durscher of Grandin, Fla., Ken Durscher of Cedar Rapids, Kurt (Jo) Durscher of Cedar Rapids, and Kent (Laura) Durscher of West Union; five grandchildren, Ryan, Jamie, Nathan, Emily and Amber; and one sister, Joann Ishman of Elkader.
Delphine was preceded in death by her parents.
