Burial will immediately follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Following the burial, there will be a reception at Dave and Mary's home.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary; children, Greg Duggan, Brian Duggan and Dana Harnish; son-in-law, Bryan Harnish; daughters-in-law, Kathy Duggan and Barb Duggan; grandchildren, Zach Duggan, Sophia Harnish and Sydney Duggan; brothers, Dick Duggan and Gary Duggan; brothers-in-law, Larry Foley and Pat Foley; and sisters-in-law, Kay Duggan, Janice Duggan and Lynette Hackett.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Irene Duggan.
Dave was born April 27, 1944, in Ryan, Iowa, and lived in Cedar Rapids for most of his life before moving to Arizona in 1988. He started an insurance agency that year in Tempe, Ariz., and ran it successfully until he retired in 2006.
After retirement, Dave especially enjoyed traveling the country with Mary and spending time with his grandchildren. Dave and Mary were active volunteers at Mercy Gilbert Hospital, where Dave served as treasurer on the East Valley Volunteer board. He and Mary had also recently joined Holy Cross Catholic Church and had hoped to become active in the Small Church Community Groups.
Dave's caring heart and unconditional love have touched each one of us and he will live in our hearts forever.
The family wishes to express their thanks and love to all those who knew and loved Dave.
