Duffy, Francis 'Frank' J.

Francis “Frank” J. Duffy, 73, of Merrillville, Ind., formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away May 24, 2011. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 2, at Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point, Ind. Cremation will precede the memorial service. Friends are invited to meet with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 3 p.m. until time of service.

Frank is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marilyn; children, Cynthia (Sam) Palmer of Gilbert, Ariz., Lt. Col. Daniel (Bridget) Duffy of Las Vegas, Nev., Suzanne Hargarten of Chandler, Ariz., Scott (Dena) Duffy of Cedar Rapids and Angela (Douglas) Gough of Crown Point, Ind.; 10 grandchildren, Sean, Kellie, Devon and Meghan Duffy, A1C Patrick, Stephen and SrA Eric Hargarten, Ashley Duffy, Daniel and Ryan Gough; mother, Virginia Duffy, and brother, Ronald (Patricia) Duffy, both of Cedar Rapids; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Duffy; and brothers, Robert, Patrick and Thomas Duffy.

He was a retired estimator for Area Sheet Metal in Hobart, Ind. Frank was also a member of the Friendly Sons of Erin, American Legion Post 54 and FOE 2498, Hobart.
