Duffy, Delores A.
Delores A. Duffy, 76, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama. Interment will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Tama. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama, with a vigil service at 7 p.m.
Delores was born June 3, 1934, in Tama, Iowa, the daughter of John Luke and Ina M. (Brecht) Duffy. Delores moved to Cedar Rapids in May 1953, working for McKesson Wholesale. She retired from there in June 1997. She also worked part time jobs at Joe and Cliffs Sporting Goods (1962-1965) and Stickney Kozy Inn (1965-1973).
She was preceded in death by her parents; and Bill Finzen.
Survivors include six brothers and two sisters, Norman (Dolly) of Sterling Heights, Mich., Donald (Doreen) of Council Bluffs, John “Bill” (Shirley) of Bull Shoals, Ark., Paul (Noel) of Tama, Joseph (Felicia) of Georgetown, Texas, Laurence “Larry” (Jan) of Prescott, Ariz., Maureen (Bob) Beck of Mandan, N.D., and Alice (Tom) Duffy-Meyer of Austin, Minn.; 26 nieces and nephews; and 33 grandnieces and grandnephews. Also surviving are Bonnie Kougl, Sharon (Greg) Groszkrueger, Karen Utesch, Linda Finzen-Mathers and Laura (Mick) Feauto.
Memorials may be given to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, or Camp Courageous of Iowa.
