Dueker, Myrtle Edna

Myrtle Edna Dueker, 99, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012, at West Ridge Care Center. She resided in Fort Dodge for most of her life, before relocating to Cedar Rapids in 2007 to be near her family.

Funeral services were held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge Aug. 11, 2012, and interment was at North Lawn Cemetery.

Myrtle was born Dec. 3, 1912, in Webster County. She was the daughter of David and Myrtle (Gordon) McLuckie. She married Alvin Martin Dueker on Dec. 8, 1936, in Bay City, Mich.

Family was very important to her. She loved to spend time with all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, thoroughly enjoying their company. She was extremely proud of them and they loved her dearly.

Myrtle is survived by her three children, Dollie Meyers of Cedar Rapids, Al and Donna Dueker of Davenport, and Duane and Barbara Dueker of Florida; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by three sisters and many nieces and nephews.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin; her granddaughter, Ann Meyers; her parents; two brothers; and four sisters.

Myrtle's family would like to thank the staff at West Ridge Care Center and Dr. Tammy O'Brien for their loving care and support.
