Dudley, Lavonne A.
Lavonne A. Dudley, 91, of Independence, died Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, at West Village Care Center in Independence following a short illness. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at White Funeral Home in Independence, where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Troy Mills Cemetery, Troy Mills.
Mrs. Dudley is survived by four daughters, Shirley Anthes of Central City, Janet (Mike) Dibble of Lewisville, Texas, and Mary Beier and Lois Stout, both of Independence; a son, Gene (Julie) Dudley of Aurora, Iowa; one daughter-in-law, Becky Hackett of Prairie du Chien, Wis.; 20 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Harold (Sharon) Bearbower and William (Melba) Bearbower, both of Rowley.
She was born March 2, 1918, in Rowley, Iowa. On Jan. 16, 1940, she and Leland Dewayne Dudley were married in Clinton. He preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 2003.
