Dudley, Barbara J.
Barbara J. Dudley, 78, a resident of Willow Gardens Care Center, Marion, Iowa, passed away Monday, April 23, 2012, following a long illness. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Pastor Reginald Daniel. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Harold; children, Bonnie (Kenneth) Heck of Cedar Rapids, John (Cathy) Merck of Atkins, Cheryl Purvine of Marion, Gail (Leonard) Webster of Cedar Rapids, and Lisa MacHue of Tucson, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, JoAnn Luedeman and Shirley Abbe, both of Marion.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Larry Anglin and Duane Dudley; and brothers-in-law, Clark Luedeman and Leonard Abbe.
Born Feb. 19, 1934, in Chicago, Barbara was the daughter of Frank and Alberta (Dominguez) Pearson. On Sept. 2, 1949, Barbara married W. S. Anglin. They lived in Tennessee, before returning to Cedar Rapids. They later divorced. On Feb. 15, 1962, in Boonville, Mo., Barbara was united in marriage to Harold Dudley.
Barbara was a member of the Church of God. Her greatest joy was raising her children and spending time with her grandchildren. Barbara loved her afternoon soaps and porcelain dolls.
