Duckett, Margaret E. 'Marge'
Margaret E."Marge" Duckett, 90, of The Colony, Texas, formerly of Marion, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010, at her daughters' home. Memorial services: 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, by Pastor Bill Holley. The family will greet friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
Survivors include four children, Mari Ann Servey of Marion, Linda (Chuck) Blackford of The Colony, Texas, Cathy (Dennis) Fish of Cedar Rapids and Michael Duckett of Springville, Iowa; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Terry; a brother, Donald Phillips; a grandson, Brett Sorensen; and a great-grandson, Noah Grabe.
Marge was born Aug. 13, 1920, the daughter of Donald and Irene "Ivy" Mae (Kemph) Phillips, in Ahneek Village, Mich. She married Harold Duckett on Aug. 9, 1947. He died Feb. 3, 2005. She owned and operated Marge's Beauty Salon in Marion until she retired. Marge enjoyed attending church at Eastview Christian Church, where she taught Second grade Sunday school for many years. She loved spending time with her church friends and her family, especially her grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Marge's memory.
