Duane Don Weyant, 85, of Edgewood, passed away Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester.
He was born Feb. 8, 1930, in Clayton County, Lodomillo Township, the son of Harlan Wesley and Mabel Elizabeth (Bente) Weyant. Duane received his education in the Edgewood School and worked for Witwer family farms near Alburnett.
On March 18, 1950, Duane was united in marriage to Irene Linderwell in Indepen-dence. Four children were born to this union. Together they farmed north of Edgewood until 1978 when they moved into Edgewood. Duane also was a sexton and caretaker of Greenhill Cemetery near Edgewood.
Duane enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards, visiting the casino and eating a good meal.
Survivors include his four children, Gary Weyant of Manchester, Sandra (Ross) Kirby of Centennial, Colo., Ronald (Janie) Weyant of Manchester and Lori Heims (Al Manson) of Edgewood; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Irene Weyant, on Sept. 19, 2008; a granddaughter, Michelle Weyant; a sister, Lucille Mattson; and a brother, Kenneth Weyant.

Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 9, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Edgewood, with Pastor Mike Jackson officiating. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m Sunday, Nov. 8, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Edgewood and also one hour before services at the church on Monday. Interment: Edgewood Cemetery, Edgewood.
